How to walk 10,000 steps a day

Research has shown that walking 10,000 steps a day is good for your overall health and wellness. 10,000 steps to work out for about 5 km and is something most people can fit into their daily routines. The key is to build up to it, so it is natural and normal.

Start the determination of the basic number of steps you take now. To do this, you will receive a pedometer, available at many discount stores and sporting goods needs. Clip the pedometer to your life. Wear your pedometer forseven days without trying to add more steps. Each day, note how many steps you walked wearing the pedometer. Count the number of steps over seven days, and divide the total by seven. This is your base amount is the average amount of things that are currently running daily. Many people find that they run only 1000-3000 steps per day.

The next step is increasing every week. If the starting point is 2000, next week, trying to get another 500steps per day. Do this every week or every two weeks until you have worked up to 10,000 steps. Do not step too quickly, or you can try to walk 10,000 steps a day.

There are several ways to improve your work. At the office take a quick five-minute break every hour. At home runs in television programs. Participate in activities that are more physically active.

Your pedometer will serve as a mini-bus for you if you do or do not reachgoal pace for the day. Keep a log and stay on track to walk 10,000 steps a day.
